EP!C Names Elizabeth Nelson as Chief Program Officer to Lead Programmatic Excellence in Central and Southern Illinois

PEORIA, IL — April 23, 2026 — EP!C, a community-centered organization dedicated to enriching the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, today announced the appointment of Elizabeth Nelson as its new Chief Program Officer (CPO). Nelson formally accepted the role on April 20, 2026. She will be a critical member of the Executive Team, providing strategic leadership and oversight for all programmatic operations, including Residential, Educational, Community Day Services, and Employment Services.

Kim Cornwell, President and Chief Executive Officer of EPC, shared, “EP!C is proud to welcome Elizabeth Nelson to its Executive Team. She has extensive experience building and delivering services in various locations and will be a key driver with EP!C’s continued growth throughout Illinois.”

Ms. Nelson has an extensive background rooted in improving multistate productivity and growth in the human services industry, with expertise in P&L management, compliance, and operational controls. She is known for her work as an accomplished turnaround director and subject-matter expert (SME), having transformed loss-making sites into revenue-exceeding business units in the Medicaid waiver world. Before joining EP!C, Ms. Nelson most recently served as State Director/Iowa for Community Options. She holds both a Master’s of Social Work (MSW) with a Leadership Emphasis and a Bachelor’s of Arts in Criminal Justice and Sociology from Indiana University. Ms. Nelson will be relocating from Indiana to the Peoria area to take on the CPO role.
